NETWORK OF EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

O come let us adore Him...

For us, the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration in Bautzen, the only place in the diocese where there is adoration all day long, the announcement of the year of the eucharist has given us great joy. Through the "Network of Eucharistic Adoration" which was set up 8/12/04 we want to contribute to a new discovery of the treasure of Eucharistic Adoration.

Adoration is given preference in heaven, and here on earth we cannot do without it since God is present in the Holy Eucharist.

You are invited to discover the treasure that lies in silent adoration before the tabernacle. Spending time with Jesus in the eucharist in no lost time but it rather strengthens the relationship with God; it bears witness to our faith and can influence decisions both in the church as well as in the world.

How often and how long you take time to pray depends totally on you and your personal circumstances. It is not a question of praying efficiently but of deepening a faithful and loving relationship.

We consciously want to "link" this personal time of adoration within the context of the network for we can rely on Jesus' promise that where there are two or three gathered together in His name He Himself is present among them. In this way a praying community is being born in our country and beyond, a network of people united in thanksgiving and praise.

Christians of all ages can take part in the "Network of Eucharistic Adoration" as long as they are prepared to spend a certain time in front of the tabernacle (= in a church) in silent adoration; in which church they pray, when and for how long is up to each individual to decide - each and everyone according to her/his possibilities.

You may also invite other people to join in. Children, too, can learn to come and see Jesus once or twice a week for 5 or 10 minutes and this, too, can bear fruit.

The feedback we have received so far tells us that the knowledge of being united through this network is a support and a spiritual force for those who take part in it. The network of those praying already stretches across the whole of the country - and beyond to Poland , Russia , Austria and even as far as Brazil and USA.

This is was Bishop Reinelt wrote to us on 27/1/05:

"The founding of the 'Network of Eucharistic Adoration' on 8/12/04 in the Convent of the Poor Clares in Bautzen filled me with great joy. You thereby opened up the long standing tradition of Eucharistic Adoration in your religious community to a wider circle of believers who are prepared to spend time in adoration and enter into a network of prayer.
May the network carry many blessings for our diocese and beyond."
